About Destiny's fight
Destiny is 25 years old with a beautiful 5 year old daughter and a loving fiance' and is full of life.
Destiny loved to sing, dance, spend quality time with her family & friends and be a wonderful mother.
In the latter part of 2015, Destiny all of a sudden lost her voice and wasn't able to speak above a whisper and she kept going to the doctor and nothing was found until the mid part of 2016, they found that she had polyps on her vocal cords, in which time told her they would have to be surgically removed. In June, they did just that and then found that she had more down in her wind pipe, which they were going to remove in July, but when they sent out the polyps for testing, the test came back that she has stage 3 cancer.
Destiny now, at the age of 25, has to have her voice box removed, go through radiation and try to beat this horrible disease at such a young age.
Destiny and her fiance' both worked up until a couple of months ago when she no longer could and now are having a very hard time and are struggling to live day to day, paying bills, etc and this is why we are having this fundraiser to try and take away at least some of the burdens and hardships they are now facing through this hard & difficult time.
UPDATE***
Destiny had her surgery on July 20th and although it was worse then that originally thought going in, they removed her voice box, thyroid glands and some lymph nodes that had moved down into her chest, sent out biopsy's for testing to be sure they were able to remove all of the cancer with the extractions they done and as of yesterday, all test results came back negative and is cancer free at the moment.
Although it is still going to be a very long road to recovery, learning to speak with a device now, a whole new change of lifestyle with eating, everyday activities, etc and praying the cancer doesn't come back, the important thing right now is that she is cancer free at the time being.
She is still in the hospital in ICU for the moment, it has only been 8 days since the surgery, but is improving majorly, please continue your prayer's for her.
